*clears out dust*

You can tell how busy I am by how seldom I post, haha. Making books happen, submitting books for award consideration, it’s all good, if a little time-consuming.

In important news, I’m compiling my best flash and short stories into a slim volume called Bleedthrough and Other Small Horrors, which I plan to release in January–links will be added when they’re available!

In also-important news, my flash piece “Bone Deep,” first published at Pen of the Damned and then reprinted in Rhythm & Bones #4, has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize (!), sooo…yeah, I’m still kind of in disbelief here!

Lots of flash fics!

As happens, I got busy (more on that in another post), wrote things, forgot to post about the things. So just have a list, ahaha.

“Baby.” Ladies of Horror Flash Project, April 2019. Online

“Bone Deep.” Reprint. Rhythm & Bones #4, April 2019. Online

Short fic roundup!

It occurred to me, somewhat belatedly, that I haven’t posted about my most recent publications, so let’s fix that!

-“Darling Juliana” in The Lift: Nine Stories of Transformation, Vol. 1

-“Radiance” in Damned Words 35

-“Patient 49” reprinted in CultureCult Magazine #9

-“Hattie’s Ghosts” revised and reprinted in The Sirens Call #41

-“Little Reaper” in A Damned Halloween

-“Inhale, Exhale” at Pen of the Damned

-“Corpse Flowers” in Damned Words 34

-“Patient 49” originally printed in Thrice Fiction #23

Let’s go for a read!

It took a little work (and I’m behind!), but The Lift: Nine Stories of Transformation, Volume One is now available in paperback and ebook, for fans of the Parsec Award-nominated podcast.

With all-new stories by Brooke Warra, Meg Hafdahl, Jon Grilz, Nelson W. Pyles, Daniel Foytik, Charles Rakiecz, Scarlett R. Algee, Lee A. Forman, and K. B. Goddard, with extras by Daniel Foytik and Cynthia Lowman, and astoundingly perfect illustrations by Jeanette Andromeda. Foreword by Owl Goingback.

This was great fun to work on, both as an author and as an editor, and I think you’ll enjoy it 🙂 (And my story brings an unlikely fan favorite back…)
